Since humankind invented the wheel, we’ve been determined to take it to new heights, push it to the limit, and revel in the experience. Ritual is a big screen celebration of the indomitable human spirit that defines the sport of mountain biking with unforgettable film-going experiences. The film series highlights incredible athletes, creative filmmakers, engaging storylines and stunning cinematography; bringing riders together in mountain biking’s greatest cities and venues.

Launched in 2020 and shut down by Covid19, Ritual Mountain Bike Film Tour re-launched in Spring 2024. The tour, founded by Chris Keig (Warren Miller / Fly Fishing Film Tour), Geoff Shaffer (Pearl Izumi) and Chad Melis (Turn It Up Media / REEB Cycles), features collections of industry-leading films from established and independent film makers on the big screen touring to roughly 70 venues in 2025 through a mix of twenty hosted and 50 planned licensed live events.

Boulder, Colo. (Jan. 16, 2025) – SHIMANO presents RITUAL Mountain Bike Film Tour powered by Outside, a nationwide celebration of mountain biking’s best films, is expanding this year to hit big screens in 23 mountain towns. Kicking off in March at The Orange Peel in Asheville, North Carolina, the tour will showcase epic adventures, legendary lines, stellar storytelling and interstellar athletes in its second year.

“In 2024 we held screenings in ten mountain biking destinations in addition to dozens of partner events, and the reception from riders across the county was stellar,” said Chris Keig,

Co-Founder of RITUAL. “Based on an outstanding inaugural year, we’re doubling down to bring these stories to more mountain biking fans across the country.”

EPIC FILMS

A two-hour show, with intermission, showcases stunning cinematography and riding films, from 20-minute stories to three-minute action clips.
